Such a fun project!! Loved the hands on experience it provided for my 5 year old!
Bought this for my nephew who LOVED painting it and watching it explode. It's a great gift whether for a special occasion or just something to do in quarantine!
My 4-year old son loved making this (with help from an adult). The paper mache and paint is messy so I highly recommend doing this outside or on a covered surface. I love how everything is pre-packaged for you as it may be difficult to find the resources at the time of shelter-in-place.
My six-year-old son loves his volcano kit. It was super easy for him to put together with a little help from mom and dad. Loads of fun! He also really enjoyed the book that came with the volcano. It gave loads of information about volcanoes all over the world.
This is one of my favorite activities I have ever done with my kids. They made a really cool and unique process (paper mache) by providing all the supplies so all we had to do was open the box and get started! I have never seen an art kit provide so many helpful extras like the plastic gloves and even the little book To go along with it. My kids are aged 5 and 2.5 and they both helped with every step of the process and loved learning a new art method - paper mache. I let my 5 form the base shape of the volcano all by himself and mix the paint and choose what colors to paint it. For the next few days everyone that came over got to see an "explosion" and we have read the book several times. We loved it so much and I thought it was such a good value for the money that I went online and ordered several more to start giving as birthday gifts.
Purchased this for my 5-year-old grandson and he loved it so much I just purchased the monthly subscription! Messy, fun, hands-on. All the things my little guy loves! And his sisters enjoyed it, too :)
Great project start to finish. Came with a great book with facts about Volcano's. Instructions we very easy to follow and the project only needed 15 min to dry before you could start painting. It was a fun afternoon activity.
It was fun and easy for my 5 year old to build. The only part I did not like was that the vial to fill with baking soda and vinegar was so small that there was not much of an explosion.
The product was very worthwhile! My kindergarten granddaughter and her Mom did the project last weekend. They had lots of fun getting things ready and then finally seeing the volcano erupt. Granddaughter had a great time doing this project and learned some things along the way!!
The volcano was a lot smaller than we expected, and it required the parent to do most of the work. Although, our son did love painting it and watching it explode! He loves the lava rock that came with it as well!
Great project. I bought it for my 6 yr old granddaughter. She loved building it as much as watching it "erupt." The lava rocks were fun to get with it. Her mom likes that it can be "activated" to erupt a few more times.
I sent this as a gift to my nephew. He and his siblings had fun putting it together but the overflow of the volcano left a lot to be desired. It didn't really overflow the way I thought it would.
My grandson loved this. He did a science fair event with my over FaceTime!
This was a fun kit! We enjoyed each and every part leading up to the eruption. However the vial to put the baking soda and vinegar into was too small. It wasn't the eruption we were hoping to see.
My Grandson had a "Blast" with this volcano kit (pun intended). He loved painting the volcano and then making it erupt. As he is only 5, he did need some adult supervision. It was a big hit and I loved that it was both fun and educational.
My 2 boys (8 and 5) did this project together with Moms help. They loved doing it! It helped occupy a couple of hours during quarantine. Definitely do this outside especially if you are going to make it erupt which we did! They loved it!
I sent one to each of my Grand children's homes. The first completed it yesterday and had lots of fun building it. She had her mom call us to show us the first eruption. It barely worked. So the construction phase was good but eruption bad.
My 4.5 year old granddaughter constructed it with minimal supervision, which is a big plus now that mom & dad are working from home. It's much more than just the kit--there's art, science, reading--practically a whole curriculum in one gift!
It kept them occupied for hours making it, and then showing it excitedly to anyone who would watch. It is quite durable too. It didn't fall apart even after numerous "eruptions".
A fun activity for kids of different ages!
